CULTURE NEWS

  • The Candy Jar Gallery is showcasing a retrospective art exhibit of local works by the Reid family (including pieces by Aunt Mabel Bennett Hutchinson). The Presto Preservation Association and Bingham Arts Council announced the show, which is open to the public for viewing.  Idaho State Journal
  • Friends of the Marshall Public Library mark 30 years by hosting a seasonal book sale on March 20-21 at the community room; books cost as low as 25 cents (hardcovers for $2, paperbacks for $1), and every $30 spent earns a raffle ticket for prize baskets donated by local businesses.  Local News 8

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices jumped 10 cents overnight after Idaho drivers paid less than $3 per gallon a month ago, raising fuel costs for local residents in Pocatello.  Post Register

  • On March 17, 2026, 59 high school players gathered in District 5’s All-Star game for slam dunk and 3-point contests that stressed fun over defense; Preston’s Kasen Bryce won the dunk contest while Malad’s Izzy Haycock won the 3-point shootout.  East Idaho News
  • NFL tight end Taysom Hill (a former BYU Cougar who grew up in Pocatello) has played since 2017 and will host a meet-and-greet with fans in Rexburg on Thursday from 2 to 3 p.m. at Walmart in partnership with Old Spice.  East Idaho News
