- ➤ The 29th Annual Feed the 5000 Families food drive kicks off today with a concert by local musicians at Central Christian Church (Pocatello) at 7 p.m. Donations of food and money will be accepted as additional events are planned through early May to benefit the Idaho Food Bank. KPVI
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Forecasters warn another strong wind storm will affect east Idaho today, with gusts up to 65 mph and blowing dust reducing visibility between noon & 9 p.m. Residents are urged to secure outdoor items and avoid travel with high-profile vehicles. East Idaho News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Bannock Transportation Planning Organization launched a survey on Facebook on March 13 to learn how often residents bike and walk in the Pocatello and Chubbuck area for planning future transportation through 2055; responses will help shape improvements in the region. - ➤ A Pocatello resident’s permit to build a private airstrip was withdrawn on Wednesday after Bannock County sent notices to nearby property owners and scheduled a public hearing. The decision means the project will not move forward. KPVI
- ➤ On March 11, Pocatello Regional Airport reopened its donation table to support TSA workers working without pay due to an ongoing federal shutdown (begun Feb. 14). Donations including food and household items can be dropped off daily between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. in the terminal lobby. Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer
