COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ The City of Pocatello will break ground on the new Optimist Skatepark on Friday, March 21 at noon after the Parks and Recreation Department and the Southeast Idaho Skatepark Association approved the final design. Artisan Skateparks will start construction in early April— the planned park will be 7,000 to 8,000 square feet with a bowl, quarter pipe, stairs, rails, and ledges and is funded by ARPA and local contributions. - ➤ The Museum of Clean opened a new Junior Vet Clinic exhibit at My World Discovery Museum on March 8 using real veterinary tools in partnership with Alta Animal Hospital + museum executive Melody Daniels said the STEM based exhibit has been well received by young visitors and three more partnerships are planned. - ➤ Pocatello/Chubbuck School District announced that Highland High School rebuild will begin with construction on March 17 and a groundbreaking ceremony on March 19 at noon. The project will unfold in two phases with key facilities like a gym, cafeteria, and arts center scheduled for completion by January and July 2027—bringing an improved learning environment for students. - ➤ Heidi Graham will become principal at Pocatello High as retiring Lisa Delonas is replaced by new leadership, while Patrick Lloyd moves to an assistant role there and Angela Stevens is named at Century High—changes take effect July 1. KPVI
