  • The community newsletter from March 9 reports registration is open for the Fun Run Series and Freckleton Park's playground upgrades are complete — Marshall Public Library cardholders will check out Zoo Idaho day passes in April and join the Midweek Race Series starting March 28.  Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer

  • Grocery Outlet Bargain Market will close 36 underperforming stores, including its Pocatello location, as part of a chain-wide decision. The move may affect local shoppers + community access.  Post Register

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Idaho State University’s automotive department hosted Chrome in the Dome at the ICCU Dome over Friday and Saturday; about 10,000 visitors saw over 150 unique vehicles while students built custom trophies (supporting scholarships and program funding).  East Idaho News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Pocatello Water Department began replacing water lines on Mar Vista and Westello (6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday) on March 9, and the eight-week project required temporary street closures and parking restrictions while maintaining local access.  Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer

HEALTH NEWS

  • A local 12-year-old boy battling rare brain cancer will compete in Bob Ross’ America’s Most Artistic Kid contest soon. His determination and courage in facing a tough health battle — which adds extra meaning to his artistry — inspire the community.  Idaho State Journal
  • Premier Eye Care opens its new Chubbuck clinic today at 5620 Harvest Springs Blvd to bring advanced eye care from its former temporary space on East Clark Street — a ribbon cutting will follow on Friday, March 13 at 5 p.m. community members and partners are invited.  East Idaho News

  • Century High cheerleaders captured their second consecutive partner stunt national title at the JAMZ National Cheer Competition in Las Vegas — a win that shows their hard work and team spirit.  Idaho State Journal
