  • Scoops N Sliders, the only local ice cream shop nominated for Idaho's Best Awards, opened in September 2021 through a father-son partnership. Voting is open through Feb. 26 to support Pocatello favorites.  KPVI

  • Sparklight announced it will soon award a $30K grant to boost STEM education in local schools + the funds will support community programs.  Post Register

  • Idaho National Laboratory confirmed layoffs occurred as part of Battelle Energy Alliance’s Involuntary Separation Program, reducing less than 1% of its workforce & likely cutting fewer than 50 jobs. The move aligns staffing with DOE priorities.  East Idaho News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Portneuf Urgent Care opened its second location near Walmart in Chubbuck this morning with a ribbon cutting, attended by community members and mayor Rodney Burch. The clinic now offers care Monday through Friday (8am–8pm) and on weekends (8am–6pm) to bring quick help closer to home.  Local News 8
